About the event
I teach the Wim Hof Method quite differently from most other instructors, with a focus on experiential learning.  My deep dives into yoga, holistic health, and plant medicine give you a broader perspective of the Wim Hof Method in turn having a greater impact on what you are bringintg back to your everyday life. If you are dealing with anxiety, stress, burn out, low energy, procrastination, snoring, autoimmune diseases, sleep deprivation, looking to improve sport performance, fix a disfunctional breathing pattern or learn how cold exposure will help you turn life’s challenges into opportunities of personal growth - this workshop is for you!
Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is suitable for everyone, but does require a basic level of health. Out of precaution, we advise against participation during pregnancy, or if you are epileptic. People with cardiovascular issues, or any other serious health conditions should always consult a medical professional before starting the Wim Hof Method.
What to bring.
Swimming gear, water, towel or two, yoga mat or a thin blanket, a light snack
Optional - yoga block or meditation pillow for sitting.
Cold water lets you experience the inevitable “now”
Cold water immersion directly triggers the sympathetic nervous system by causing a burst of epinephrine (aka adrenaline) to be released from the adrenal glands. Epinephrine increases the heart rate, pushing blood to the muscles; widens airways allowing more oxygen to be sent to the brain, and mobilizes blood sugars as an energy supply.
This stress cycle happens to us every day, at the dmv, traffic jams, subway, work, home, etc. By putting ourselves through the stress of cold water immersion we learn to use our breath to calm down and invoke the para-sympathetic nervous system that directly impacts our ability to effect the nervous system in our day to day lives.
